1. Reset Socket Device and associate Android settings

Download the SocketScan Keyboard Wedge (SocketScan 10 Software). If it was already installed, you would need to uninstall and install it but you will lose any settings you have.
If the scanner is already paired with your Android device, perform steps to forget the device.
Power off and power on your Android device
Perform factory reset on Socket Mobile device:
- Power on CHS.
- Press and hold down the Trigger button and momentarily press the Power button while still holding down the Trigger button.
- After 15 seconds, the scanner will beep. Release the Trigger button. The scanner will beep 5 times and power off.
- The next time you power on the scanner, it will take longer than normal. After the scanner finishes powering on, it will have factory default settings.
Reset the scanner Bluetooth pairing
- Power on CHS
- Press and hold down the Trigger button and press the Power button until you hear a series of 3 tones
Power on the CHS. Make sure the CHS is discoverable (unpaired).

2a. Pair the day scanner as input off

On your Android, touch Home | Menu | Settings | Wireless & Networks Bluetooth settings
Make sure the device has Bluetooth "On". Scan for devices.
In the list of found devices, select Socket CHS [xxxxxx]. Tap Pair.
The CHS will connect to the Android device.
The CHS will beep once after it has connected.

2b. Configuring

Tap the Config icon to the right of your paired Socket CHS [xxxxxx] device and uncheck the input box if it is selected, then confirm by clicking OK and then OK again.

2. In the SocketScan app, check the checkbox to "Switch your keyboard". Select the SocketScan Keyboard.

3. Tap "Turn On Your Scanner"

4. If prompted with a Pairing Request at any point in the next steps, accept and move to "Finalize Pairing"

5. Either: Scan the SPP barcode at the bottom of the screen.
Or: You may need to tap the "On Screen" button, select the type of barcode scanner (e.g. 1D barcode), then scan the sample bar code that is displayed.

7. (This step may be optional). Repeat step 6 and seven if there is a connection failure. This may require multiple retries.

4. Finalize Pairing

Go to your Android Settings...(Optional: My Device)...Language and Input...Current Keyboard, and disable the SocketScan keyboard. You will get a toast notification that Scan Wedge Service has stopped.

• On the Forms Main screen, tap the Menu icon in the upper left corner of the screen and tap Settings.

Ensure your Socket scanner is still on and tap the button to Enable Socket Mobile devices and then tap Done.

After a few seconds, Pendragon should present the name of your scanner at the bottom of the screen via a toast message. If Pendragon displays "Waiting for Scanner..." and does not present the name of your scanner, you might need to rerun the steps from the reset.

Please note that you must re-enable the Socket Scanner in settings if you close Forms or restart your device.

If you turn your scanner off, you must wait for the connect message in Forms before you can start scanning again.

You can optionally close the SocketScan app.

6. Sample scan script

Import the scan_test.pff form at the bottom of these instructions, and then freeze, publish and sync.

On the Android device, open the form and scan a barcode. You should receive a message "Scan Event Fired!" and the scanned barcode will be placed into the barcode Text field. The Text field has a field label of BarcodeReceived, which is used in the script.

The script in the barcode Text field is:
