2. Set Up

Once installed, open the app and walk through the set-up. Here are the steps at the time of writing this tutorial:

1. Tap Get started and then tap "Enable in Settings", and turn on the Barcode Keyboard.
2. Tap "Switch input methods and select the Barcode Keyboard.
3. Tap "Finished".

3. Open the Barcode Keyboard App

4. Keyboard Behaviour

Tap Keyboard Preferences, scroll down, and tap Keyboard Behaviour.

5. Simulation Rule

At the bottom of the screen, tap "ADD SIMULATION RULE".

6. Name the Rule

Tap in the Name field and change the name from "New rule" to "Pendragon".

7. Set Rule

Tap "This simulation rule will be applied to" and select the "Pendragon Forms" and tap OK.

8. Set Options

Tap the Prefix and suffix setting. Add a tilde (~) before the ${INPUT} text.

Then tap the screen to set the cursor after the ${INPUT} text and click the "CHOOSE PLACEHOLDER" link and tap "Enter".

The text should now display ~${INPUT}${ENTER}. Click OK.

9. Check "Key by Key"

10. Uncheck "Show as hex codes".

11. Click Save Rule.

12. Scan

In your Pendragon Form that has a scan event, tap in a Text field and then tap the barcode icon that displays on the keyboard. Optionally, import the ScanTest.pff form at the bottom of this page, and use this as a test form.
